A Huge Community Wellness Game for GOOD

Jane McGonigal tossed out a statement that resonates with every molecule of what I hope to do.  She predicts a game designer could win the Nobel Peace Prize sometime in the next few decades. Not so much a Nobel prize – but rather I’d like to be part of creating a wellness/health changing game worthy of the Nobel.  Get her book, REALITY IS BROKEN, due out in January.

It makes me doubly pleased that I joined her   secret HQ for people who are making games that are making us:

– happier
– smarter
– stronger
– healthier
– more collaborative
– more creative
– better connected to our friends and family
– and better at WHATEVER we love to do when we’re not playing games

Her blog lists some games that are already doing just that: EVOKEFold It!The Epic Win AppFlowerCode of EverandSuperBetterThe MP Expenses GameBudgetballQuest to LearnLittle Big Planet: GamechangersWorld Without OilSeek ‘n Spell, and Conspiracy for Good.

What all of these projects have in common: they’re dedicated to making some kind of a real positive impact on gamers’ lives and the world around them.  If you or anyone you know is keen on doing the same, if you or they have skills in social networking, crowd-sourcing, game design, wellness participation, and the myriad of niches around all that – please contact me.
