Validation of Physical Activity

Self reporting is a losing game when it comes to inspiring the least active or inactive to participate in physical activity.

Simply adding a tracking device or even a social network/friend site around the activity doesn’t engage for the long-term either.

We know that it takes the full Wellness Resource Network and a combination of program or activity options, access to those programs and enrollment to start participation.  Once all that is in place, a solid prescription from a physician, a program from an employer or a “self-assigned” mission to become more active can move a person toward some wellness behaviors.

The following list includes quite a number of devices and programs that track physical activity. We don’t recommend any one as the single solution. Combining the use of such gadgets with a means of delivery great activity programming with the support of fitness professionals, friends and family can be highly motivating.  We welcome your comments and any additional devices you’d like us to be aware of.
